| | Welcome to the City of CorcoranIncorporated in 1914, the City of Corcoran is located in the heartland of California's fertile San Joaquin Valley. Corcoran is a "small town" in the best sense of the word, with its citizens working together on major community projects. Corcoran has been built on a strong agricultural base because it is located near one of the most remarkable geographic features in the San Joaquin Valley, the Tulare Lake Basin, which is the most fertile region in the world.
News & AnnouncementsThe Corcoran City Council voted to appoint Sidonio "Sid" Palmerin to the City Council at their meeting held on May 7, 2012. Former Council member Jason Mustain resigned in March, leaving a vacancy on the Council which was filled by appointment.
State law enables the council to make an appointment or conduct an election to fill the vacancy. For cost saving purposes the council decided to fill the vacancy by appointment rather than hold a special election.
Mr. Palmerin will serve out the remainder of Mr. Mustain's term through November 2014.
During the meeting Council member Robertson stated, "either of these applicants is a good choice."
City Manager Kindon Meik said of the appointment, "I look forward to working with Mr. Palmerin. His experience will be beneficial as we continue to address the issues at hand." | | | Sunday | Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday |
